When changing motherboards.

Hello, currently I have a dell dimension 3000 motherboard which came with a
operating CD for windows XP but from dell. I was planning on buying a new
motherboard that wasnt made by dell. What can I do to install windows XP on a
non-dell motherboard? Do I have to buy one? Is there a telephone number to
microsoft that can help me activate? Someone please reply asap.
 
The CD you got from DEll is tied to the Dell motherboard. If you swap out
motherboards you must buy the retail version of XP.
