Weather report from Doncaster and Harrogate (North Yorks) Tuesday 24 May:

Cold, windy, cloudy with bursts of heavy rain.

Spent the day at The Yorkshire Showground (Harrogate, North Yorkshire, UK) with a children's event comprising 2,500 children and assorted adults. Children and adults got completely wet through, hair went frizzy, mascara ran like rivers down the face and on the coach home, the children appeared covered in mud and sludge and smelt like wet dogs/foxes!!!

All in all a very average late May day in the north of the UK with a Bank Holiday approaching - better get the wellies, scarves and gloves out to keep the chill out whilst doing all those Bank Holiday outdoor DIY/gardening jobs!!

No, it ain't always cold in the UK, but quite a lot.

We usually get about a whole 4 weeks a year, in total, when it's warm ;)

j/k

Further south you are, especially in Devon and Cornwall, the better it is.

Today's weather report from Doncaster and York (been to York on a work's course)......

Much warmer and sunny, temp in 70s and a dramatic change over the last 24 hours. Bit breezy but nice though!

For once, it sounds like the N and S of the UK are fairly similar - quite rare that really!!

Last time i was in the USA, Kansas was 105 degrees (actual, not forecast as thats what thermometer said) and humidity was between 80% and 85%. It's stupid to be outside for long in that sort of temperature...
