I'm wondering why my machine continually "wakes" up and
who or why it startscommuniocating through the net. I use
SBC DSL (supplied modem) and I run through a SMC
wireless/ wired router; no other machines hooked up yet.
I have the firewall enabled on the router, when testing
port vulnerability, reports are that my machine is
stealth, Shields Up, etc. Currently have Windows Time
off, Server service and Client not even loaded, messenger
disabled, not sure what else could be communicating.
QuickTime media player no auto updates, same for Real one
player. Windows Media player only allows auto update down
to onco / month. Task Manager shows afew svc hosts
instances, winlogon,SNMP.exe,nvsvc32.exe. Others
are:nvsvc32.exe,alg.exe,spoolsv.exe,lsass.exe,csrss.exe,mm
c.exe,smss.exe,services.exe,rundll32.exe (2 times). Those
are the unknown programs it shows that I am not positive
about, no virus or soft firewall now. And how can I show
background stuff running? THANX!!!
..

Have you done a virus scan? Specifically for the Welchia virus?
