What the heck is Search Companion?

F

Father Guido

and how can I install it again to regain Search capability.

When launching Search > Files or Folders I get the following error.

A file that is required to run Search Companion cannot be found. You may
need to run setup.

I have tried running setup but it didn't fix the problem. I have also
run the scannow option to repair files without luck either.

Any other ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Norm

PS I'm running XP Home on a P4 2.4 GHz, w/512 Mb RAM and lots of free
disk space.

Tried that, no luck. Also tried
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/tips/xp_search_probs.htm
again no luck.
I've run scannow, etc.

I can search everything except 'Files and Folders'. When I do I get a
yellow exclamation mark with the following text...

"A file that is required to run Search Companion cannot be found. You
may need to run setup."

I don't have a clue what could have happened, everything else seems to
be working fine.

Thanks,

Norm

When you get frustrated, an alternative...

Many folks say it works better than XP search
