Search Companion Cannon Be Found

When I try to run a search, I get the following error message: A file that is
required to run Search Companion cannot be found. You may need to run setup.
I have followed all of the directions on this page:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;Q319949 except for
trying to reinstall XP SP1 because I have SP2 on my computer currently. Do I
need to uninstall SP2? Reinstalling the search companion files did nothing,
nor did the hotfix. I would like to know if there is some other way to repair
this search problem. Can I run a repair on windows itself? Please help.
Thanks.

You could boot from the WinXP w/SP2 CD and do a repair install; assuming you
slipstreamed the SP2 CD with the original XP CD and then burned yourself a
new XP w/SP2 CD.

I don't think I have an SP2. I think windows update just downloaded SP2. When
I tried the XP disc that came with the computer it said I couldn't do
anything with the disc because it was just SP1. How do I "slipstream" a SP2
CD?

Thanks
