Search Companion Error

Hi,

I regularly use the Search Companion in IE- since yesterday the Search
Companion doesn't start up and gives the error, "A file that is
required to run search companion cannot be found. You may need to run
setup."

I have SP2 already installed and tried installing the search assistant
once more through its INF file, also ran sfc/scannow, both completed
successfully but in vain.
Any suggestions? I wouldn't like reinstalling Windows for one thing...

I finally resolved the issue- though curiously not through any MS
stuff-- used a utility called XPLite that allows uninstalling parts of
a Windows installation. So, first uninstalled search companion- ran the
search window in classic mode- then installed it back again. And things
are working just fine.
