What is [X] Fax Services...

George

I'm using a WinXP-pro PC, and in the Add/Remove under "Windows Components",
there's a choice to install...

[ ] Fax Services

Of course it enables some type of fax'ing, but I wondered about...

1) Which application in Start > Programs uses this? Is it a Microsoft
application only that needs this, or do other app's need this too?

2) Is this for RECEIVING faxes, like into a modem and into some sort of
buffer or file somewhere?

3) Is this for SENDING faxes from the application, or Word, or other apps?

4) If it's for sending faxes, is there a simple one-liner on how to use it
like "Print to" and then type in a phone number in a certain format of ___

5) How do I know if I need to go into this "add Windows Components" and
check it and install.. [X] Fax Services?

Thanks,
George

Click START|HELP & SUPPORT and in the search box type "fax". Click on
"using FAX."
