In school they use all the nice office programs at Home I
got Works. I can work with Works but I realy like to work
with Office. There is a problem though I still whant to
have the fetures of Windows XP. I looked at the Microsoft
website but could not find anyting. What is the diffrence
betwene Windows XP Profesional Editon and Office 2003
Profesional Editon. If i change from Windows to Office
will I lose features such as the dual monitor support or
the easy plug and play features of Windows XP?

Hi, Office is a set of programs, they can be run on Windows. You may feel
free to purchase it and install on your computer running Windows XP. You
don't lose anything, you gain the features of the Office Suite.

Windows is an operating system.
Office is an application program.

You should go to your favorite software vendor, purchase whatever version of
Office 2003 appeals to you,
insert the disk, and install it on your Windows system.

(However, be aware that Office is not cheap.)

Windows (XP/2000/ME/98, etc.) is an operating system (OS). MS Office is an
application designed to work within the OS. Office 2003 is the latest
version of MS Office.

You can purchase MS Office 2003 for Teachers/Students at a very reasonable
price (US$149), Matt:

Even online!

Windows Professional XP is an Operating system - successor to Win98,
WinME, WinNT. Office XP is an applications suite that will run under
any of them.

You might be able to get a student license version of Office from your
school

If all you are really interested is the Word program for Word
Processing, then you might consider the 'Works Suite 200 or 2003' which
uses Word from Office XP as the word processor - but is cheaper than a
full Office.
