Ok before i intallled sp1a my computer would boot up on
like 15 seconds. But after i installed it my computer
would litterally take 5 minutes to boot up. I already
downloaded a crap load fo stuff that is supposed to speed
up your computer and i have defraged and the whole nine
yards. So just to make sure i was not crazy i unistalled
servgice pack 1 and wa la my computer was back to booting
up in 15 seconds. Now the problem is, is that i would
like some of the fixes from service pack one but i don't
want my computer to take 5 minutes to boot up. Can any
body help?

Don't blame SP1a. Mine has it and boots up just as rapidly as before SP1a.

so do you think it could be another update

I'm interested in a response to this as well.

It's not the computer booting up that is the problem for
me. What happens is, pre-install of SP1 and all the
updates, I can start up and as soon as I hit my desktop,
I can instantly fire up my internet connection.

After I install the updates, the computer boots up and
hits the desktop, but I am unable to open my internet
connection or access certain programs. After about a
minute or so, everything is fine again.

Unless I get a response to this, I fear I'm going to have
to do the updates, one by one to isolate which one is
causing the problem.
