What is CD/DVD emulation software?

I installed a simulation called Sims2 and when I run the program I got
a message "CD/DVD emulation software detected - remove emulation
software.
Does this mean I have to uninstall Nero each time I want to use Sims2
then have to reinstall Nero?

Is there a solution I could try?

Usually Nero will not set this protection scheme off. Usually Daemon or
certain other CD Duplication applications will - but not Nero. You sure you
do not have anything else?

Or are you saying you uninstalled Nero and everything works?

I was using Nero as a possible cause
to the program as I was told that Nero might be causing the problem.
I have other CD/DVD writing software installed.
I mainly wanted to find out if there is a way of deactivating the
software rather than the hassle of uninstalling then re-installing
software each time I want to play Sims 2.
