What is "550 mailbox not found?

Some of my emails were returned with this message. I remember seeing
something about this somewhere on my computer. Can anyone help?
 
This means that email hasn't been delivered because it could find the
mailbox of the person you were sending to. Verify thee-mail address and try
again.
