what happened to prompt for password in standby mode?

I have windows xp and noticed when I done a windows update my prompt for
password doesnt come up when computer went out of standby mode. I have prompt
for password set in control panel. Anyone know how to solve this? Any advice
would be appriciated.

Also, ensure you have set "System Stanby" and it isn't just your monitor
turning on and that you're not just hybernating.

Uninstall the update and see if this helps. I also have all current
updates installed here but do not see this problem.

how do you uninstall the update?

Via the Control Panel > Add and remove Programs. Check the "Show
updates" box at the top of the window to display the updates in the
list.
