what happened to my old emails when outlook was updated

Hello
Recently I downloaded the Windows Service Pack 2 update which was
imperative, and it updated Outlook on my computer. Consequently all my emails
are missing in the 'new look' outlook. Anyone know whats happened? and can i
get my emails back?

Is anything else missing? Is it just your e-mail? Meaning, do you still see
any of your old data (calendar/contacts/tasks)? If so, it's likely just a
view setting.

That said,

a) you should always back up your data before applying something as large as
WinXP SP2
b) you should always back up your data regularly, period
c) tell us your version/SP level of Outlook
