what files are safe to delete

in the windows file folder, what files are generally safe to delete. for
example, i delete text (txt) documents usually but should i be saving them.
what is recommended that i keep? like the .dat files, application extension
files, etc. it just seems that a lot of space is being taken up in this
folder. thanks.

To be on the safe side do not manually delete any of them. Run Disk Clean up
