What does this error message mean?

Hello group,
I am getting this error message occasionally when my system starts up:
"Generic Host Process for Win32 Services encountered a problem..."; What
is a Generic Host Process? Any idea what could cause this?

Recently I deleted Windows Messenger from my system; could this be the
cause? Any idea how to fix this?

I am running WinXP Pro, with the latest service pack and updates.

Thanks in advance for your help,
Jeff

Generic Host Process = svchost.exe.

What error appears in Event Viewer? Event ID: and Source.

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the
error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a button
resembling two
pages. Double click the button and close Event Viewer. Now start your
message
(email) and do a paste into the body of the message. This will paste the
info from the
Event Viewer Error Report complete with links into the message. Make
sure this is
the first paste after exiting from Event Viewer.

How did you remove Windows Messenger?

Hope this helps.
