Running WINXP Media 2005 with SP2.

Generic Host process for Win32 Services has encountered a problem and needs
to close. We are sorry for the incontinence.

What needs to be done to stop this issue?

Thanks for you help and support.

Someone recently had the same error here, and I replied:

First, try updating the drivers for your printer and scanner, if you have those
devices, as described here (whether or not they are H-P devices):
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/821690

If no joy, try following the procedures laid out here:
http://motls.blogspot.com/2006/08/generic-host-process-for-win32.html

Start with the procedures and links at the begining of the article and work down
until you hopefully find success.

So, you would begin with reading this KB artiucle:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/931852/en-us
and trying the procedures there, specifically the one regarding the CatRoot folder.

If that does not help, install this update:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/ms06-040.mspx

Post back with your results.
