What does "554 transaction failed" mean?

After having no problems since I bought this laptop and started using Outlook
with my AOL address about a month ago, all of the sudden today non of my
e-mails make it out. All return with "Some of you recipients cannot be
reached. 554 Transaction Failed." I am having no problem receiving e-mails.

Here is a list of the variations on the 554 error that AOL uses - not sure
if they are all the same everywhere, but they all do seem to have some sort
of negative association to them.

Is there more to the error, such as a 3 digit number like additional letters
or numbers?
