what are the pop3 and smtp settings for hotmail account?

Hotmail does not use smtp or pop3. It is HTTP mail. You cannot use Outlook
for free Hotmail, only paid Premium accts. Consult the MSN site for help with
premium accts.

There is an application called FreePops at http://www.freepops.org that
installs as a POP3 proxy and reads webmail from many providers into any mail
client, including Outlook. It does work with HotMail.
