Hotmail To Outlook Oddity

XP / AT&T-Yahoo Home Page/ Outlook '03 ---- I successfully setup a New POP3
Outlook Account (no Connector App involved) that sent existing Hotmail
messages into my '03 Outlook. I found, though, that my Toolbar "Hotmail" link
when Clk'd steered me to a different site (something like live.msn / nothing
about msn is in my Hotmail login Path ) and a Load Error.

Does Hotmail acct access remain as before if one sets up a POP3 account as
above, & was this just a strange quirk I still can't figure out?

If someone wants to move this to Win Live Mail Desktop, do so. I now realize
I posted a Hotmail ? in Outlook.........

I'm assuming a follow-up answer got hijacked so I'll repeat:

Thanks, Diane. This tuned out to be a Quirk as when I Re-Installed the POP3
Hotmail-To-Outlook account the Hotmail page access and Toolbar Link THEN
worked fine as opposed to my prior experience.

I call it Hotmail account although login.live.com/etc is the current
path...hotmail remains in my email address so the reference stuck.

This does prove the Connector App is not needed in many Outlook caes as I'm
just average expertise. Thanks again!
