Stephensaw,
POP3 will only download messages from the INBOX folder, on the server. It will
not download the messages from the other default or user created folders from
the server. This is what Outlook Connector, accomplished.

If you want to leave the messages in the web mail interface, and download them
into MS Outlook you need to do the following:
***Make sure that you do Step# 1, before you do anything, or it will be
difficult to get the messages back to HotMail web mail interface***

1. Open MS Outlook> TOOLS> E-Mail accts> Select Change or View Accts> Select
HotMail acct> Change button>
Under More Setting button> Advance tab> Select Leave Messages on Server> Close
MS Outlook.
2. Go to the web mail interface for your HotMail acct> Move the messages from
the other default (Sent Items), and user created folders there into the Inbox.
3. Open MS Outlook> Download New Mail> Create additional local folders that you
can separate the HotMail messages into. For future downloads you might want to
create message rules, that move these messages when they are first downloaded.
4. When the messages are downloaded into MS Outlook, and you finish the
necessary housekeeping, close MS Outlook.
5. Go back to the HotMail web mail interface, and move them messages that you
just downloaded back into, the folders that they were in before.
6. One caveat with this, if you send new, replies, or forwarded mail through the
HotMail account from MS Outlook, a copy of the sent message will not be placed
in the Sent Items folder, in HotMail's web mail interface.
7. After the initial download, you might want to go back to Step#2, and select a
deletion setting for messages from the server, on the Advance tab, say 21 days
or so. This way that the HotMail mailbox acct will not exceed the capacity for
the service. But you will need to go to the web mail interface, and move
messages out of the INBOX folder, into user created folders, if you want to
retain a copy of the messages there, on a weekly or so basis.
