Outlook 2003 e-mail folders no longer exist after synching with ho

In the last three weeks I was forced by Microsoft to download the Outlook
Connector. This worked for a small amount of time untill I noticed I was
receiving "Blank e-mails" When I checked e-mail in the browser, all of the
e-mail was still there.

I have linked to hotmail e-mail accounts. This shouldn't have any impact
with Outlook 2003.

Today, 18 February 2010, I hit send/receive in Outlook 2003 and let it synch
up with the hotmail account. To my dismay when I checked my inbox this
evening, I found that the default inbox had been changed to the hotmail
inbox. I also found that all of the original e-mail and sub e-mail folders I
had in Outlook 2003 are no longer there. I did not tell Outlook Connector to
move or delete these folders. Other information have been placed in different
large folders indicating where they came from.

I use Outlook 2003 to read my hotmail e-mail since I can better manipilate
the e-mail then what I can do in hotmail. Does any body know what has
happened? Did Outlook Connector delete some of e-mail? I am using version
12.0.6423.1000

No you weren't. September 1, 2009 is the date when Microsoft changed how
access to Hotmail happens. Moreover, March 1, 2009 was the date Microsoft
made POP access to Hotmail free for anyone.

Sorry, but this just doesn't happen by itself.

Since you don't describe any of this "information" no one can guess what it
means.

There's no doubt that access Hotmail via the Connector is less than robust,
but I have found that most of the time, either the servers are the cause of
problems, or deleting and readding the account will fix it. I've never
experienced anything such as you describe, however. The Hotmail servers have
always been rock-steady for retaining the data exactly as it should be.
