What are system restore point file extensions?

Could someone please inform me as to what extension, .XXX, Win XP home uses for restore point files
and where they might be found. I would like to selectively remove some of the restore points.
Thank you.

System Restore Points are chained. For example it's Friday and
you wish to restore to Monday - If Tuesday's checkpoint isn't
usable/corrupted you cannot get back to Monday.

You can't selectively remove check points. You can lower it's disk
% allocation, which effectively removes "Older" points or use
XP's Disk Cleanup to purge off older checkpoints.

System Restore is really only effective over a short time. It's
intended use is for Rollback or Undo operations. Corruption of the
points is a fairly common occurrence.

Using a Disk Imaging program is a better solution for protecting
your XP install, programs and personal data.

Hi

You can't chose which SR checkpoints to remove. You can either remove all
of the checkpoints or all but the last one via Disk Cleanup>More
Options>System Restore.

Sorry, you can't remove individual restore points. Your only
options are to remove none, all, or all but the last one.
