WER ERROR MESSAGES/USB PROBS.

Hi,

I am the one who has tired everything under the sun to get
my scanner and printer working.

I am hoping these error messages will be some kind of clue
so that someone can help me. Thank you in advance.
Dell Dimension 8200 XP PRO intel4 2.2 ram 512
Scanner hpscanjet6300C printer hpdeskjet970cse

These are the error messages that I have been getting
since I had trouble with my printer and scanner and the
usb ports. I have tried many things to get my computer to
communicate with them. Installed them many ways. Deleted
all the hubs in device manager and reboot. Etc.
This is the scanner error message and the details of the
message:

Are you sure that the drivers you are trying to use are WinXP compatible?
If not, you can go to http://www.hp.com to try to make sure that you
download the correct drivers for WinXP for your printer and scanner.

Also, some USB devices require that you install the software first then the
hardware. Other USB devices require that you install the hardware then the
software.

Most hp USB products with which I am familiar require that you install the
software before you install the hardware.
