start up error

i get a error message when i start up(nt on access scanner service) the
following files in error roport. c:\docume~1\user\ local~1\ temp\wer
17.tmp.dir00\mcshield.exe.mdmp and
c:\docume~1\user~\local~1\temp\wer17.tmp.dir00\appcompat.txt can anyone help

That is a McAfee error message, it may mean reinstalling all or part of your
McAfee services. Try the McAfee forums at
http://forums.mcafeehelp.com/index.php/ or go to McAfee help and chat with
an online rep.

True, but aren't these files just used for installation (not needed once
installed)? That would be the only reason for Mcafee to put them into his
'temp' directory. Bottom line - you should not have anything 'running' from
your temp directory. I would also suggest uninstalling and re-installing
Mcafee, but first clean out that temp directory.
Anything in this folder (c:\docume~1\user\ local~1\ temp) you can and should
get rid of. Some things may give you an error saying they are in use just
skip them and go to the next.
