Welcome Screen Disappears

Single user XP SP2. I have it set to start with welcome screen. Fast
Switching
set off. Used to display welcome screen but since installing SP2 skips past
and logs straight on.

Have .net 1.1 installed on machine.

MS KB suggests this is an issue with .net 1.0 but installing 1.1 should fix
it. It hasn't.

everything is ok via controlpassword so that's not the solution. any other
ideas?. I notice that .net sets up an aspnet user, but nothing in there
suggests a problem. Any other suggestions?

As a single user, you must choose a password to get the Welcome screen. If
you can't stand making another user, or using a password, set the registry
to display the default Administrator account on Welcome
