Usually put my machine to "hibernate" with no problems. Lately all I need
do to start it back up is move the mouse or walk by. Static electricity?
Our house is pretty dry this winter.

I think not possible in Hibernate mode. This can be done after in Standby
mode. However, you can configure some settings in BIOS [if it support] to
turn on your PC with mouse. Check if your BIOS has following settings:

There is an option called "Power On BY PS/2 Mouse". Change it to
double-click. Next time, when you double-click then it will turn on your PC.

In the following picture, you can see a setting called "ACPI Suspend Type:
S3(STR)". Check if your BIOS has this feature. Next time instead of using
Hibernate using Standby then it will cut the power off and when you move your
mouse it will back.

Hope this help, let us know!
