Weird services / profiles thing

Hi,

On two of our W2K SP3 / SP4 servers this weird thing is happening. For
some reason I'm unable to start or stop services or change service
startup options. From some newsgroup post I tried logging on as another
user (with admin rights) to see if its possible to start or stop
services. But after entering user credentials I end up with a blank
desktop, and that's it. (I'm logging on using RDP) Nothing in
Eventlogs, no change after a reboot? What gives?

TIA,
Wouter

Try again logged on at the console. Might also be this one.

Patrick,

Thanks for your reply. Logging on to the console is not easy since the
server is located elsewhere and - as I recall - W2K doesn't have the
ability to log on to the console remotely.

The APC software is indeed installed of both servers. I'll try
de-installing, rebooting and re-installing the latest version. I will
post the results back to this post.
