Weird File Sharing Problem

I have a weird file sharing problem on a Windows 2000
Professional (SP4) box. I can share out folders using
the "Shared Folders" snap-in, but they disappear after a
minute or so. Also none of the default shares are
present. The sharing tab in the "Folder Properities" of
any folder is missing as well. The Server service is
running and "File and Printer Sharing" is installed and
turned on for the network adapter. Anyone have any idea
what is causing this?
