weird coloured screens?!

does anyone know why and how i can get rid of a problem i am currently
having on my computer? everytime i go to shut down my computer or leave
it on stand by, weird flashing coloured screens pop up on my screen and
flash from colour to colour in a repetitive mode. they dont go away and
my computer does not shut down properly as a result also, i cannot turn
my screen off, so i have to shut it down using the mains! so help me
get rid of them please!

Hi,
This indication that your Video Card gone bad and you need to get a new one
if it is the case.
What your status of Anti-virus and Anti-Adware definitions stand, is your
systemm clean and not infested with these monsters!.
Is all your cables are fitted firmly including (Power cord, Monitor Cable,
serial cables like mouse, keyboard).
Look in the Event viewer for any cluse for Error messages with Red
cross/Plus indicating any kind of failure and post it back here for us to
help you.

1) Could be a driver issue, download and install latest drivers for your
card.
2) Also if your card has: Fan - check it, Power connector - not loose, Card
is fully seated into the motherboard.
3) And as mentioned the card has gone bad.
