Web sites not responding

I'm having two problems which are probably related. First
as soon as I'm connected to the internet I get a IE
window open with the following in the address bar...
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner.Peterson\Local
Settings\Temp\~DlfnTmp1\index.html. I've downloaded and
ran the software from lavasoft, it still continues.
Second problem, the web sites are not responding. Some
stop when I first access, others (such as this newsgroup
site)stop responding when I click on the New Post button.
I have reset Web Settings to the defaults.

First, what does a scan with a current (post-2002 version using updated
definitions) antivirus show? Second, did you update Ad-aware 6.1 before
you ran it? Delete your temporary files and Temporary Internet Files.
After you've done those things, please repost for more help.
