Can still access some pages but many are no longer accessible. Even keying

to my ISP's page. Adding to the puzzle is that my other computer still
accesses normally.

System Restore never manages to complete. Have I really to re-master or is

Do you get a 404 or are you redirected back to the ISP's home page?

Maybe this will help:

Click Start, Run, type:

netsh winsock reset

Press Enter key

Restart the system

Thinking about it, if you can access some sites, this is more likely the
cause:

Flush DNS

Click Start, Run, type:

IPConfig /FlushDNS [Press Enter key]

Also try turning off your firewall as a test. If you have any unique
security settings in Internet Options, or if you have a program that
might be blocking some sites, or a web accelerator program, disable.

Uninstall your antivirus, completly, check your web access, then
reinstall the antivirus if so desired.
