WD Signature Version 1.20.1459.12?

This is a follow up to my earlier post on a software update. My Windows
defender signature version is update 1.14.1525.2 that downloaded this
evening. But, when i checked the signature version thru "Windows Install
Cleanup Utility". It states that my signature version is 1.20.1459.12 . How
do I fix all of this so that Windows Defender doesn't keep saying I have a
new version to download? Thanks Vince
 
Vince - I would stay away from the installer cleanup utility. The notation
on the version numbers is different between that view and the one the app
uses. I do agree with you that the difference you see seems odd--but if the
home page of Defender shows 1.14.1525.2, that is current, and I'd ignore
that for the time being. You should download the new code from the web site
as referenced by the update notice.
