At 10:30 AM West Coast time, the AutoUpdater kick in.
After the D/L I get in the Diagnosis
Definitions Increment Version: 138/142
Definitions ThreatAuditThreatData: 1345263
Definitions ThreatAuditScanData: 2963894
Definitions DeterminationData: 745158
Definition Version: 5785 (12/30/2005 10:30:49 AM)

After reboot

I get:
Definitions Increment Version: 142/142
Definitions ThreatAuditThreatData: 1345263
Definitions ThreatAuditScanData: 2963894
Definitions DeterminationData: 745158

Appear, only one definition added in 2 weeks!!

During the week between Christmas and Now Year the Microsoft campus is
almost empty. There's no one there to do much of anything.

Then why pretend to release 2 definition updates in 2 days?

Interesting. I'm not sure what is happening, but I think that upon reboot,
Microsoft Antispyware starts up--and that it does a check for updates on
starting--hence the "fix".

I don't believe that any of the numbers posted relate to the number of items
defined in the definitions.
