version 1.0.615 does not detect the availability of 1.0.701

MS AntiSpyware 1.0.615 does currently run on my PC. I clicked on "File",
"Check for updates". The most recent spyware definitions has been downloaded
and installed. AutoUpdater reports erroneously that the most current version
is installed.

You need to go to Windows Download to download and install Version 1.0.701.
Autoupdater will not do it.

Hello Atomic-Squirrel,

Good news, the Updater is right. You are updated up today, we are running
5785.

Thanks for your reply. I received a message on some other PCs informing me
that a newer version (1.0.701) is available. All these PCs ran MSAS 1.0.615.
However, I did not get it on this PC.

Anyway, the message "most recent software installed" is definitely not
accurate after having "checked updates" with MSAS 1.0.615.

Hello Engel,

Thanks for your reply. I'm sorry because I was not clear enough. After
having "checked updates", the second message is "most recent software
installed". I didn't mean that the most recent spyware definitions are not
installed. Please read my response to Mike Ellis.

You are correct about the message being confusing at a minimum. FWIW, that
update check has never brought in a new build in my experience. There is an
automatic update mechanism, but I've no idea how it decides when to offer
the update.

Hello Bill,

Thanks for your reply. I reported this issue so that it may be corrected in
the next versions. I'll download the most recent version from MS web site.

The current mechanism has a finite lifespan--perhaps one more use. Once we
reach beta2, updates will presumably come via AutoUpdate--definition updates
will for sure--which should be better for everyone.

Hello Bill,

Thanks for your reply. I look forward to seeing this feature in the next
versions.
