Way to stop websites from resizing browser?

Sometimes when you go to certain websites or click on a link the site will
resize your browser in the non maximized view. I hate this plus I need a
specific non maximized view for a certain site I visit often.

Is there a way to prohibit sites from doing this resizing (using Firefox
and/or IE)?

TIA

Websites you visit may use Javascript which is a language that can change how
you view the page. It may be that the site you visit use a script to make the
window change size. I have to agree it can be annoying sometimes

Disable Active scripting.

IE | Tools | Internet Options | Security tab |
Custom Level button | Set Active scripting to Disabled

[[Specifies how you want to handle potentially risky actions, files,
programs, or downloads. Select one of the following:
To be prompted for approval before proceeding, click Prompt.
To skip prompting and automatically refuse the action or download, click
Disable.
To automatically proceed without prompting, click Enable.
Note: Some options do not provide a Prompt setting. Also, these options do
not apply to FTP folders.]]

Stops popups also. You may find that some websites will not work correctly
with this Disabled. I change the setting all of the time.
