I use IE v8.0.6001 in WIN XP Home. I'm up-to-date with patches &
updates.
A website I use regularly always resizes my browser window. I want to
prevent all sites from resizing my browser windows. In Firefox I can
do that easily, but this website was designed for IE and does not
work properly in Firefox. How can I prevent websites from resizing
an IE8 window?
Thank you
Well, that's rude and irritating, isn't it? The reason is that the
whole page is designed using % sizing instead of pixels or anything
else. Normally that would be fine, but he's also %ing the entire window
size, which isn't playing nice. It's none of his business what size you
wish to view that site at.
AFAIK there is no way to combat that. I thought, around the place
where you can tell it to use YOUR colors and not what the site called,
you could also set something about the size, but ... nothing is jumping
out at me.
It does seem to be only the Home Page that happens on, though. If I
resize that page then it stays put for any of the links I use
unless/until I come back to it.
Make a suggestion to the webmaster; perhaps it's just an oversight on
the author's part and could be remedied. Or, instead of using the Home
Page to land on, bookmark instead one of the other pages and make that
your initial landing page, ignoring the Home Page.
Personally I find his flashing graphics annoying enough to drive me away
from the site. It looks like a lot of newbie work on the site, so it
might be worth mnetioning the shortcoming you perceive to them. Can't
hurt to try anyway.
