Wav sounds do not play in Powerpoint 2007

Powerpoint presentation with embedded Wav audio file cannot return the sound
on the slide show.

Wav sounds available from transition sound list include in PP2007 are OK.
But if I try to insert another WAV sound file (that can be read by Windows
media player), it seems that powerpoint cannot read it. The file size is
under the maximum permitted by PP2007. I have to problem in inserting and
hearing sound from a MP3 or wma file type. Only Wav type seems not to be
recognized, but not all of them as a some of them can be heard.

Wavs are embedde in ppt presentation I have got through mail, or wav files
that I have with other applications. In all cases where Powerpint 2007 is not
able to return the sound, I can play the sound files ( I have extracted the
sound embedded in Powerpoint by saving the file as a web page) using Windows
Media Player or or the mplayer2.

In addition I have run de same presentation with the Open Office application
(impress) and the slide show run all right including the sounds. Thanks for
your help.
