Sounds in midi file cannot play in powerpoint

I am working on a powerpoint presentation with sound effect during slide
transition.

So, I downloaded some sounds from microsoft powerpoint online but this is
already in MIDI file format. Now when I linked it to my presentation,
powerpoint says it cannot play such sound because it is not in WAV format. I
am trying to look ways to convert the sounds in the midi file to wav format
but I can't find any. If possible, how can I play the sounds in midi file to
my powerpoint presentation? Or Can I convert the midi file to wav format?

I really appreciate your reply.

Mid files should play just fine in PowerPoint. Use the Insert | Movies and
Sounds | Sounds from file... | your file selections should include *.mid, along
with a number of other types.

WAV files are the only format that you can use with transitions and action
settings. As Michael has said, you can use Insert > Movies and Sounds > Sound
from File to insert a midi. If you want to convert the midis to WAVs, use
Google and search for "midi to WAV".
