I have all kinds of problems with mcafee,so I think I will just get rid of
it.when the firewall is on I can't go anywhere, they tell me that -I have a
free firewall with my xp,but I can't make that one work either, most likely an
mcafee thing,so where do we go now!!!uninstall mcafee and what do I use to
protect my cpu.shouldn't the computer come with a security setup,so people
wouldn't have to use mc or norton, seems like it should,oh well, thanks for
your time,phil-

Use the Windows firewall and Avast (free).

I like Mcafe. If you keep it set on filter and occasionally check the
"blocked site" list,
you shouldn't be having problems. Don't know for sure in your case. There
is also a non-firewall alternative such as : Avorax. It monitors and warns
just like a firewall, but doesn't interfere with incoming/outgoing traffic,
once you give the OK
on the traffic. I haven't heard many good things said about the firewall
that comes with XP (mainly other tech forums). Most users leave I seen opt
for one of the free
ones available off the internet.
GOOD LUCK with whatever
