Firewall marketing hype or true

My McAfee firewall (AOL Saftey & Security Center V210.5.2.1 by McAfee) says
that I have two other firewalls installed: (1) Norton Internet Worm
Protection and (2) Microsoft Firewall. It says to uninstall or turn off both
of them as they can cause conflicts and other problems. True or hype? Also,
I can't find any file folders with the names Norton or Symantec on my C:
drive.

True.

Did you once have a Norton product installed? If so, getting rid of
it isn't always that easy. Go to the Symantec site and look for a
remover/uninstaller tool.

Never have two firewalls running at the same time. You may have remnants of
Norton on your machine.

Download and run the Norton Removal Tool:

Symantec uninstaller may not finish the job:

Hi PSrumbagh

No its not hype running two security utilities of the same type (ie: 2
firewalls, 2 antivirus, 2 spyware)can cause conflicts that stop them
both working,

Two anti-spyware programs can be running at the same time without
problem.

Add / Remove Programs shows nothing under names "Norton" or "Symantec". Also
nothing for "Microsoft Firewall".
