waking up from standby, again!

I have XP Professional and as I wrote earlier I am having a problem with
waking up from standby. How do I wake up - in other words what am I suppose
to do to wake up? When I wiggle my mouse or hit a key on the keyboard,
nothing happens. As I said before I am having trouble with my on/off switch
and I was hoping standby would allow me NOT to turn my pc off. Thanks!
 
Well I have a laptop and to wake up from standby I have to press the power
key, so maybe thats your problem?
 
There are standby settings in the BIOS setup (S3 settings) that enable 'wake
on mouse" etc.
 
Have you tried hitting the 'shift' key? Maybe that would wake your pc from
stand by mode.
