Wacom Graphire 4

I have just installed a Wacom Graphire 4 tablet and it is not working like I
expected.

When using it in Photoshop CS2 it works well on the image work area, but
once off the work area the cursor stops flowing smoothly and jumps from spot
to spot. I cannot easily select any new tools or menu items without having to
swap back to my mouse. On the work area I see a smooth pen position
indication but off the work area the standard cursor does not indicate the
pen location unless the pen is still. This is the same for all applications
including the desktop.

I am running a ASUS P4P800S m/b, Intel P4 3.0Ghz, 1Gb RAM, XP Pro SP2,
Photoshop SC2 9.0.2, latest Wacom drivers and the tablet is connected to the
m/b.

Any suggestions?

1st place I tried.

They told me to uninstall their driver, reboot, reinstall driver. I've now
done this many times with the tablet on a different m/b port each time. No
change.

Look in your "Control Panel"
check your Mouse to see if there are any settings for the tablet.
or an entry of it's own.

There is a separate CP for the tablet. I've checked the settings and changed
some to see the effect but have not been able to see any improvement. I have
changed the tracking mode from pen to mouse and back with no change to the
problem.

Problem fixed!

I reseated the RAM as my PC would not boot this afternoon due to a heat
issue and found that when the PC booted up that the pen/tablet was working
correctly.
