W2K PC on NT40 domain

Brylin

I have a W2K prof PC on a NT40 domain.
When the W2K PC is on the same subnet as the NT40 PDC,
I can change the Computername & a user can change their
password.

The problem begins when the W2K PC is on another subnet of the
same domain, then as admin I can't change the Computername and
a user can't change their password.

How can I solve this problem? Urgent assistent needed
Many thanks for your reply

Make sure the Win2k's default gateway is properly set.
Try an lmhosts file with these entries:

<IP address of PDC> PDCNAME #PRE #DOM:DOMAIN-NAME
<IP address of PDC> "DOMAIN-NAME \0x1b #PRE

Doug,

The second line input for the lmhost resolved my problem.
Many thanks for your effort
