No help files accessable, anywhere ex. Explorer etc.

W2K Computer
Virus Scanned (nav)
All critical service packs installed inc. SP4

Cannot access any help files. Clicking on the main
windows help file gives the following error.

------Cannot open the file:
mk:mad:MSITStore:C:\WINNT\Help\windows.chm ------

Have tried looking at knowledge base, but articles refer
to Win98 (Q312456).

Ran system file check, nothing.
Manually replaced files, same problem......

Please, please help.

My understanding this behavior is caused by Service Pack 4. Nothing I have read on this issue has fixed it. I don't have complete loss of HTML Help. Just links that use the HTML Help API.

Thank you, I will try this and post feedback.

Note: Previously, the O/S had the problem with SP1, SP4 did not change
anything in regards to this problem.

Tony.
