I just got a laptop with Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 (build 2600)
installed. I have bunches of .chm files I need access to. I've opened these
files on my old (late) computer. Now,I get the error:
"Cannot Open the File: mkMSITStore:C:\Documents and
Settings\Bob\Desktop\Windows XP Hacks.CHM"
This is after I've turned off ZoneAlarm.
So, I went to Help and looked it up. The closest I came was article Q312456
- "Cannot Open the File: MkMSITStore:C:\Windows\Help\Windows.chm" Error
Message Appears When Opening Help
I assume I have the latest version of Hhctrl.ocx (5.2.3790.2453). I
downloaded some software called MJ's Help Diagnostics and verified all my
Help components were insalled and registered properly.
Why can't I open .chm files?
Is there a way I can open these files in Word?
