W2K lost search feature?!

I have been having probelms after reinstalling
Windows 2000. Results in Lost Search or Finds
Have tried the .dll update below, to no avail. A message
pops up saying that the .dll is registered, but has no
effect on the search capability. Know of any other
soultions!?

Windows NT 4.0, upgrade to Windows 2000, and then upgrade
to Office 2000 SR-1, the following symptoms may occur:
Nothing happens when you click Start, point to Search, and
then click Files or Folders.
Nothing happens when you click Start, point to Search, and
then click On the Internet.
Nothing happens when you click Find (on this page) on the
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, click Start, click Run,
type regsvr32 oleaut32.dll, and then click OK. This
reregisters Oleaut32.dll.

Maybe OLEAUT32.DLL is not the correct version? Try running "sfc.exe
/scannow" which will scan the system files for incorrect versions.

Not sure if this will help, but it's something to try.
