W2K install Problems

I am installing W2K after formatting my drive. Windows
partitions it then asks for setup info, network info and
then says installing components. Then while it is still
installing components the PC reboots and starts the
install over again. This process has been repeated many
times with the same results. Anyone have any ideas ? thx

Remove all non-essential hardware and try again. To do a clean install,
either boot the CD-Rom or boot the Windows 2000 setup disks. The set of four
install disks can be created from your Win2k CD-rom; change to the \bootdisk
directory on the cd-rom and execute makeboot.exe (from dos) or makebt32.exe
(from 32 bit) and follow the prompts.

When you get to the point, delete the existing NTFS and or other partitions
found. After you delete the partition(s) abort the install, then again
restart the pc booting the CD-Rom or setup disks to avoid unexpected drive
letter assignments with your new install.

Then after the operating system is installed, Add your hardware back in one
at a time using the latest Windows 2000 drivers from the manufacturer's web
site.
