w2k install prob

gus

I had win 98; I formated partitions C and D; I popped in
w2k cd, but during boot up, I recieved error
message, "Invalid System disk."

I then put a boot up disk in A:, it will read C & D (but
no files on it), but it can't find the CD drive.

Help!

Hi Gus,
Make sure your BIOS option is set to boot from CD first. Also, as the
machine boots (just after the POST screen) watch for the message "Press any
key to boot from CD" - you'll have about 3 seconds to hit a key on the
keyboard to start booting from the Windows CD.

If for some reason this doesn't work, you can download the boot floppies
from www.microsoft.com/downloads, and start the process by booting from the
Windows 2000 floppies.
