W2K Domain licensing

Hi All,

I have a W2K domain, 2 domain controllers, 1 file/print
server. All 2 servers are set to Per Seat. How do I setup
licensing so all servers share the same licensing
information. On the main domain controller, I add some
licenses, but on the file server they don't show up in the
purchase history. Is W2K Licensing configured locally on
each server? Can't they share the purchase history and
licensing information from one server?

Thanks.

Microsoft does not enforce licensing through software - the information
displayed in the licensing tool is strictly for administrative purposes but
is never used to determine your compliance with adhering to licensing
requirements.

The most informative information regarding licensing is found in the
licensing Help Topics (Control Panel, Licensing, Help menu, select Help
Topics). This gives detailed information about how licensing works.

However, I hate to see people wasting their time on Windows Licensing (not
to be confused with Terminal Services Licensing, which is required when you
have a terminal server). It hasn't worked properly since NT4.0 (and I
believe earlier), Microsoft will not invest any time in fixing problems
with it and I just feel people can make better use of their time learning
other aspects of the product. Here's my favorite article when it comes to
Windows Licensing:
