Terminal Service Licensing

Hi All,
I have terminal service licensing server currently runing on a w2k adv.
server but in an NT4 domain.
I need to migrate this server to a w2k domain. The problem is any time the
server joins the w2k domain, the terminal licensing service stops.
When I remove the server from the w2k domain then the service starts again.
Does anyone know why this is happening?
Is there any special way to do this??
Thanks

Caddo,

You cannot transplant a terminal server licensing server between domains. If you move your TSLS to another domamin, you will have to contact the terminal server licensing server and reinstall your terminal server licenses.

I cut the following snipet out of knowledge base article 290712:

In a Windows NT 4.0 domain, the Terminal Server

Licensing server can only be installed on a Windows 2000-based computer. In a

Windows 2000 domain, you must install the Terminal Server Licensing Server on a

domain controller. If you upgrade your Windows NT 4.0 domain to a Windows 2000

Active Directory domain, Terminal Services Licensing servers that reside on

member servers will no longer function. You must then reinstall the Terminal

Services Licensing server on a Windows 2000 domain controller. The Terminal

Services licenses that were on the member server will need to reissued by the

Clearinghouse and re-activated.

I hope this answers your question.
